The Festival of Dreams is a 5 day family focused retreat. Building on the success of One World Health and Wellbeing Festival (which is no longer in the UK), it provides a safe space for children of all ages to take part in sports, drama, arts and crafts and outdoor pursuits. Run by a consortium of like minded parents and workshop facilitators with many years experience in theatre, home education, high level sport and bushcraft, we ensure families can relax and learn together.
The Festival of Dreams is organised as a further development of many ideas from OneWorld summer festival, those that have attended the OW summer festival before will recognise a few familiar faces, including Kenny Lewis (One World Site Director), Simon Capper (One World Volunteer Manager), Claire & Mal (One World Kids Village Managers), John Thorne (One World Basketball and Lifeskills) and Jake Ward (One World Site Manager). Of course we also look forward to welcoming many new faces!
The Festival of Dreams is designed exclusively for families and most of our workshops, classes and activities will be suitable for all ages. These will include art, craft, music, basketball, hockey, table tennis, bush craft, calligraphy, dancing and swimming with a warm atmosphere to encourage children and parents alike to make friends and connections.
We will also have a marquee and stage set up in the evenings for the whole family to enjoy some live performances, and even showcase their own talent! At One World we have enjoyed singers, dancers, sketches, comedy, juggling and even gymnastics and can’t wait to see what the Festival of Dreams stage delivers. There will be showcase cabaret event on the final evening.
